We may not have official confirmation from Netflix about the news just yet, but it looks like The Crown star Vanessa Kirby has made the announcement that Helena Bonham Carter really is definitely taking over the role of Princess Margaret for them.
Earlier this month it emerged that the Oscar winner was in talks for the role with the actress apparently being "all but confirmed" to become Princess Margaret in the hit Netflix show's third season.
And, if this recent picture from Vanessa is anything to go by, we'd say that "all but" can be dropped from reports now.
Taking to Instagram on Saturday (January 13), Vanessa shared a photo of herself and Helena, adding the caption: "Honoured."
If that wasn't enough to go on, she even tagged the official The Crown Instagram account in the caption too. So, while we're waiting for Netflix to make a royal declaration, we're taking this as a confirmation – by decree of the outgoing Princess.
Vanessa played Queen Elizabeth II's younger sister Princess Margaret in seasons one and two of The Crown, but the role will be taken over in season three as the series jumps forward in time to focus on the later years of the Queen's reign.
Last year the actress revealed that she was "gutted" to be saying goodbye to the character.
"I was desperate to carry on," Kirby told The Telegraph. "I'm gutted. There hasn't been a part that's made me happier on-screen, and I really hope it has changed people's minds about her."
As for the Queen herself, Claire Foy has already found her royal successor in the form of Broadchurch star Olivia Colman. Matt Smith's replacement as Prince Phillip has yet to be announced.
The Crown is available to stream on Netflix now.
