Croydon man fighting for his life after being stabbed in New Addington
A man is fighting for his life after being stabbed in New Addington. The emergency services raced to Lodge Lange, in the Croydon neighbourhood, at around 10.50pm last night (Sunday, February 2) to reports of a knife attack.
There Met Police officers found the man, aged in his 40s, bleeding heavily. He was rushed to hospital where he remains in a critical condition almost 24 hours later.
Forensics have been combing the scene all day, and a trail of blood from a home on nearby Elmsfield leads to Lodge Lange - a busy main road. There have been no arrests and a crime scene is in place.

A Met Police spokesperson said: "Police were called at about 10.50pm on Sunday, February 2, to reports of a man found injured in the road on Lodge Lane in Croydon. Emergency services attended. The man, who is believed to be aged in his 40s, was found to be suffering from stab injuries.
"He has been taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition. His next of kin are aware. A crime scene is in place. There have been no arrests and enquiries continue. Anyone with information is asked to call police via 101 reference CAD 7151/02Feb."
A London Ambulance Service (LAS) spokesperson said: “We were called at 10.55pm yesterday (February 2) to reports of a stabbing in Lodge Lane, New Addington. We sent a number of resources to the scene, including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast-response car and an incident response officer.
“We also dispatched a trauma team from London’s Air Ambulance, which consisted of a paramedic and a doctor in a car. We treated one patient at the scene and took him to a major trauma centre.”
