I crumbled when Natwest asked me a question but now I've made £140

There is always some form of incentive to change banks to make money or save money, but I'll be honest the fear of the faff and hassle it may cause has always put me off.

But when I stepped foot into a Natwest branch and a real life person asked me to my face 'do you want to make your account a Rewards account?' I crumbled on the spot and replied 'yes ok' and I'm glad I did.

The Reward account is basically what it says on the tin, you are 'rewarded' for certain things you do and in turn can get either cashback, gift cards for your favourite stores or donate to charity.

I decided when I changed to the Reward account that I would leave the money in the account as a bit of a comfort blanket for a rainy day or to use when an inevitable unexpected bill comes my way.

And I was pleasantly surprised the other day, when I checked, and found that I had over £140 in the account which will go a huge way in helping me pay for Christmas presents this year.

It costs me £2 a month for the account but you can earn up to £5 a month back. Earn £4 a month back in Rewards for two or more direct debits (two of those direct debits needs to be at least £2 each). Plus, earn an extra £1 a month back in Rewards by simply just logging in to your mobile app.

Obviously I have chosen to let the money build up a bit, but you don't have to and as soon as your rewards reach £5 you can redeem it in whichever way you would like, (cough an overpriced festive drink, cough).
