It didn't take long for the penultimate episode of The Cry to emotionally wreck audiences tonight (October 14).

Just 10 minutes into the episode, it was revealed that baby Noah wasn't kidnapped after all, and that he instead died at some point during Joanna and Alistair's journey, either on the long plane ride from Scotland or on the road from Melbourne to Wilde Bay.

Viewers were naturally disturbed as Joanna (Jenna Coleman) held her dead baby in her arms and screamed.

Now that it's clear that Joanna and Alistair are covering up the death of their baby, viewers are now wondering where the body is. Alistair told Joanna that he buried their son by a tree on a beach he used to go to as a child. But can he be trusted?

However, the reveal of Noah's death wasn't even the biggest shock of the episode. In a major twist, it transpired that Joanna isn't actually on trial for the manslaughter of her baby, but the murder of Alistair.

That's right, Alistair is dead.

So how does Joanna end up being accused of Alistair's murder? We've now seen his true colours after manipulating Jo during the investigation, but could she really have killed him?

All will no doubt be revealed when The Cry concludes next Sunday (October 21) at 9pm on BBC One.
