Crystal Palace have seen a bid rejected for Queens Park Rangers forward Eberechi Eze.

The 22-year-old is also wanted by West Ham United but Palace made the first move with an offer of £8million plus add-ons related to his performances in the Premier League. They will now look at improved bid for the England Under-21 international.

QPR are looking for at least £16million for Eze, who scored 14 goals last season playing on the left flank or through the middle as an attacking-midfielder.

Eze has impressed scouts in the last two seasons at Loftus Road and had a loan spell at Wycombe Wanderers in the 2017/18 season, having started at the Millwall Academy.

Palace have been looking at attacking options in the transfer market as Wilfried Zaha may leave this summer for the right price. The Ivory Coast international has stated he would like to test himself in European football.

Eze would bolster Palace’s attacking options. He qualified for Nigeria but played for England at Under-20 level before a call-up to the Under-21s this season under Aidy Boothroyd.

QPR manager Mark Warburton has previously insisted that Eze could play for a top-six team. He said: “He has maintained a great level of consistency home and away and honestly believe he is a top-six Premier League player all day long. I knew about him before going into the job but have been very impressed.”

Eze also had spells at Arsenal, Fulham and Reading before he went to Millwall’s Academy. He has stated how Warburton has developed his game and that he is thankful to QPR for his development.

“They’ve given me the platform to enjoy myself and helped nurture me into the player they always believed I could be,” he said. “The fact I can do it at QPR, I’m hugely proud.”
