Crystal Palace sign defender Jaroslaw Jach from Zaglebie Lubin

Crystal Palace have completed the signing of Polish international defender Jaroslaw Jach from Zaglebie Lubin.

Jach has signed a three-and-a-half year contract at Selhurst Park and joined for a fee of around £2million, becoming the Eagles first ever Polish-born player.

“This is a dream come true because the Premier League is a league I have followed since I was little and I always wanted to come and play here,” he said.

“I hope that I will be able to help Crystal Palace stay in the Premier League and perhaps achieve bigger success.”

The 23-year-old centre-back hailed his new manager Roy Hodgson as “outstanding” and the Palace boss will be hoping Jach can make an immediate impact as his side battle with a crisis of numbers in defence.

Scott Dann has been ruled out until the end of the season with an anterior cruciate ligament injury whilst Mamadou Sakho and Jeffrey Schlupp have been long-term absentees.

Jach made his first appearances for Adam Nawalka’s senior Poland side in November friendlies against Uruguay and Mexico and made 20 appearances in all competitions for Zaglebie Lubin.
