Welcome to our first edition of Cultural Capital! The show where we bring you the best of London’s arts and culture (and thank God it’s back).

This week, as museums and art galleries welcome their first visitors, we go down the rabbit hole to chat to the curator of the V&A’s new Alice in Wonderland exhibition, Alice: curiouser and curiouser; our chief theatre critic Nick Curtis heads to his happy place in the West End (and shelters from the rain) as the curtain comes up on theatreland, and gives us his top tips for the new season; and as the Best Actress, Best Director AND Best Picture Oscar winner Nomadland comes to cinemas, we take a look at the year’s most anticipated film - a stunning portrait of an America we barely see.

Plus, hold onto your jaunty 18th century Clayuquot basket hat - we’re delighted to present your new favourite weird regular feature, Thing of the Week. Each week, we’ll showcase one of the millions of stunning, intricate or downright bizarre things that you can see for free in London’s incredible museum collections. This time, we’re at the British Museum to look at a gorgeous reliquary for a very famous saint...

Cultural Capital will be broadcast weekly on YouTube
