Curb Your Enthusiasm has been sporadically releasing new seasons for the last decade, with season 10 wrapping up last year, with a renewal announced soon after.

Whenever season 11 is happening, one cast member will sadly have to sit it out.

Richard Lewis, who has played a fictionalised version of himself since season 1, has revealed that he can't join co-star and creator Larry David for the next batch of episodes due to health issues.

"What a ride, LD! I love you, buddy," he tweeted. "Tragically, these past 18 months I’ve endured a back and two shoulder surgeries and not able to be in #curbyourenthusiasm for season 11. I’ll be watching...⁦ @HBO."

This isn't a full-time departure for the actor/character, however, as he stated to Variety that he definitely plans to return in the future.

"For 20 years, I had the greatest comedy gig I could have ever imagined with my oldest and dearest friend LD," he said. "Honestly, I'm crushed that I won't be part of this season.

"For sure, I will be screaming with all the other 'Curb' fans when the new season starts. Hope to be there for Season 12!"

We don't know when season 11 is due, but production on it apparently began in November last year.

Curb Your Enthusiasm airs on HBO in the United States, while Sky and NOW TV carry the show in the United Kingdom.
