A CYCLIST spotted riding along the M3 has been arrested at the roadside - but not before refusing to stop and carrying on cycling on the fast lane.

The bizarre callout followed reports of a cyclist riding in lane two of the carriageway at Junction 13 near Eastleigh.

When officers attended around 5.10am on Saturday, the cyclist refused to stop.

Instead, according to police, they pulled into lane three of the motorway.
