A careless biker is being questioned by police after appearing to hit a three-year-old girl before carrying on cycling.

In shocking footage captured on CCTV, the biker collided with little Lucie Wilding and dragged her 12 feet along the pavement outside her Blackpool home.

Lucie is seen stepping out of her front gate before being bowled over by a cyclist and then dragged face-down along the pavement.

Her body appears to get caught in the pedals of the bike which forced the man off his bike before cruelly fleeing the scene, without so much as an apology.

Mum Lauren Howarth said the cyclist even started to swear at Lucie before riding away.

Lucie was rushed to Blackpool Victoria Hospital A&E, where her parents were told she had no fractures but, did get several head injuries caused by the bike’s tyre.

While the toddler is now recovering in her Lancashire home, she has been left with the scarring memory of her attack.

Lauren said: ‘She's now very nervous of bikes, and we've had to tell her daddy has got rid of the bike to make her feel better.’

PC Joanna Mills of Lancashire Police said a man in his 20s will be questioned in connection with the incident.

She added: ‘Lucie is lucky she’s escaped with only scrapes and bruises. It could have been a lot worse.’
