This video shows the shocking moment a cyclist was hit by a car and shattered its windscreen as the vehicle split the bike in half.
The footage obtained from CCTV shows the Citroën DS4 driving into the unsuspecting bike rider at the junction of Truro Road in Wood Green, north London.
An eyewitness to the collision said the victim, a white 31-year-old male, suffered head injuries, shoulder bruising, and a swelling on his leg.
His £2,500 Boardman Carbon Fibre Frame bike was broken in half, however.
The driver is said to have gotten out of his car instantly to help the injured cyclist and inspect the damage to his vehicle - a shattered windscreen caused by the impact.
Emergency services rushed to the scene within 10 minutes, and whisked the traumatised victim away for a checkup.
The eyewitness said: "He's so lucky to be alive. It was an expensive bike, that we had to chuck in the bin - but thank God it was only the bike that split in half.
"I was in the area when I saw the whole thing happen.
"The car turned into the side road and drove straight into the cyclist.
"He bounced right off the front of the car, and lay there for a moment stunned.
"To be honest, he was more shocked than anything. He said he didn't have any pain and that he didn't need an ambulance.
"But after a few minutes he started feeling pain in his leg.
"When he took his helmet off, there was blood on the side of his head.
"He was also bleeding a lot from his elbow.
"The driver of the car got out to help him, though it sounded to me like he was claiming he didn't see the bike and that it was coming in too fast.
"We sat with him, gave him some water, and waited for the ambulance to arrive.
"It was a needless accident, caused by people who should have paid more attention."
The accident occurred yesterday (1) around 5pm.
