A man who had stripped down for a naked bike ride was swiftly removed from the event after getting a bit too excited about the race.

The unidentified biker was hoping to take part in the World Naked Bike Ride in Canterbury, Kent, but before the race even began he was escorted away by police for being “aroused”.

Eyewitnesses to the sight on display said described the view as 'horrible'.

One told Cambridge News: "I heard gasps and I turned around - it was a horrible sight.

"It's fair to say he was overexcited and got aroused.

"It looked like he was enjoying the event a bit too much."

Police had a stern word with the bike enthusiast, who was said to have looked 'sheepish' as he was giving a telling off.

Apparently his reaction to the view of countless naked cyclists was expected by event organisers, who previously told those taking part: "The police have confirmed they WILL act on ANY inappropriate behaviour and we, the organisers will support that.

"If you are coming just to be a pain in the neck and to be the one to end this WNBR we'd rather you stayed at home."

Ride organiser Barry Freeman added: "We do not accept this behaviour.”

The naked ride was set up to highlight the dangers bike riders face from cars.
