Cyclist seriously hurt after being hit by car in Sheffield Road, Holmfirth
Police are appealing for witnesses after a cyclist suffered serious head injuries after being hit by a car in Holmfirth.
West Yorkshire Police are appealing for witnesses after the cyclist was seriously injured in Sheffield Road at 10.49am on Sunday, October 27. The cyclist was travelling in the same direction as a VW Golf, towards Victoria Cross Roads.
The 55-year-old rider was rushed to hospital where he was found to have serious head and chest injuries. His condition is described as being critical but stable. The driver was spoken to at the scene. The road was closed for several hours in the aftermath, while investigation work took place.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or who has footage which may assist with their investigation to contact the Roads Policing Unit on 101, or by using the live chat facility on the West Yorkshire Police website. The log reference is 0632 of October 27.
