Cyclist seriously hurt after crash with Audi on London Road

A cyclist has been taken to hospital after colliding with an Audi at a busy junction in Liverpool City Centre. Emergency services were called to the crossroad at London Road and Norton Street at around 7.30pm today, February 3.

Multiple police cars and ambulance services were spotted at the scene shortly after the crash. A road closure was put in place by Merseyside Police in the part of London Road close to Monument Post Office and Laser Schoolwear Ltd, with traffic continuing along the remaining three parts of the crossroad.

A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "We can confirm that emergency services are in Liverpool City Centre following a collision this evening, Monday 3 February. At around 7.30pm, officers were called to the junction of London Road and Norton Street to reports of a collision involving an Audi and a male cyclist. The cyclist sustained a serious ankle injury and has been taken to hospital.
