Cyclist seriously injured after 'hit-and-run' in Coventry
A cyclist has sustained serious injuries following a 'hit-and-run' in Coventry. It happened in Wyken yesterday afternoon (Monday, November 11).
Paramedics were called to Ansty Road at around 3.15pm. Crews found that a cyclist had been struck by a car, West Midlands Ambulance Service said.
Medics treated a man, who was the cyclist, for potentially serious injuries. He was quickly taken to University Hospital Coventry in Walsgrave.

Detectives are now investigating the 'hit-and-run' and working to trace the driver involved. Witnesses have been urged to get in touch with West Midlands Police.
In a statement issued today (November 12), West Midlands Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 3.13pm on Monday to reports of an RTC involving a car and a cyclist on Ansty Road in Coventry.
“A man, who was the cyclist, sustained potentially serious injuries and received treatment on scene before being conveyed to University Hospital Coventry and Warwickshire for further care.”
A spokesman for West Midlands Police said: “We were called to Ansty Road in Coventry following a collision between a cyclist and a vehicle shortly after 3pm yesterday (November 11). Paramedics assessed the cyclist at the scene, and their injuries were not considered life-threatening or life-changing.
“Enquiries are now ongoing to trace the driver involved, and anyone with information can contact us via 101 or Live Chat, quoting log number 3331 of November 11.”
