Cyclist Surveys Damage During Night of Looting in Chicago

Hundreds of looters descended on downtown Chicago in the early hours of August 10, “smashing windows, looting stores, clashing with police and at one point exchanging gunfire with officers," the Chicago Tribune said.

Video by Cortri Trotter shows looting at various stores in the city, including Bloomingdale’s and Yves Saint-Laurent.

The looting followed angry scenes in the city’s Englewood neighborhood after police shot what they said was an armed suspect who had opened fire on officers in pursuit. The suspect and three officers were taken to hospital, police said. Credit: Cortri Trotter via Storyful
