Dakota Johnson's dad talks Chris Martin relationship

Don Johnson might have been at today's (January 23) National Television Awards to celebrate the best and brightest of TV, but he soon got talking about Hollywood.

While speaking to Digital Spy and other media at the ceremony, Don not only seemingly confirmed that his daughter Dakota is dating Coldplay's Chris Martin – he also gave his all-important fatherly opinion on them.

When asked about Dakota and Chris' blossoming romance, Don joked: "Yeah, that's... uh troubling, isn't it? No, she's a big girl, she can handle herself!"

Well, he's better than Fifty Shades' Christian Grey, surely?

Meanwhile, the veteran actor also spoke out about the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements in response to sexual misconduct in Hollywood, saying that it was "about time".

"I'm a big supporter and not just with the sexual abuse, but equal pay. These are really important issues that have been a long time coming to the surface and I for one am very happy that they're here."

Johnson added: "And, y'know, it's gonna take some time to sort through everything and find the right balance with everything, but at least the conversation is going."
