Dalai Lama wades into Brangelina divorce row

It seems like EVERYONE’s got an opinion on the Brangelina divorce, so why should His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama be any different?

Well, don’t answer that, but regardless, the Tibetan spiritual leader has waded into the fallout from Brad and Angelina’s split during an interview with Piers Morgan.

Taking time out from chewing the fat over topics like ISIS and the Syrian refugee crisis, he took a moment to offer his thoughts on the big celebrity story of the day.

“Sometimes divorced people, it’s the children, they come closer to their father or mother. Sometimes difficult,” he said wisely. “I think that may harm their deep experiences, psychologically.

“Some very long marriage is good but quite often it’s preparation for divorce,” he added.

Whoa, steady on there Mr Lama! What a cynical outlook.

And to his credit, Piers didn’t waste a second in gaining some further insights into the Dalai Lama’s views on celebs, quickly moving the conversation on from boring old Islamic State to Kim Kardashian.

Asked whether the fact that Kim has a whopping four times as many followers on Twitter than him was a worry, the Dalai Lama replied: “Why? If she have more followers, good, no problem.”

“Such famous people. I think, no ability to compete [with] my wisdom.”

Amen to that.
