Dalston Yard to open in Hackney after months of delays
East London will welcome a major food hall and events space next week - five months later than planned. Dalston Yard was put on hold back in August amid "a few setbacks" but will finally open its doors on Friday, December 6.
The multi-million pound project has transformed the former Street Feast market on Hackney's Hartwell Street into a 27,000 sq. ft. hub of food, drink, music and wellbeing. Now, owner Dominic Cools-Lartigue is kicking things off with a two-week stint before hard-launching in the new year.
Guests can expect eight kitchens, "a host of great chefs" and three bars. There will also be sets from guest DJs, as well as a "cultural lounge".

A post on Dalston Yards' Instagram reads: "It’s been a little while. We’ve had a few setbacks since we were last in touch, but Dalston Yard is finally taking shape.
"We are opening soon with a winter food & drinks festival to give you a taste & tease of what Dalston Yard will bring to the neighbourhood in 2025. We’re looking forward to welcoming you in soon."
It's not been revealed what stalls will be taking up a residency just yet but some big names were attached to the project when it was first announced. These included The Butcher of Dalston, a chop house from Acme Fire Cult's Andrew Clarke, Filipino barbecue by chef Budgie Montoya and French-meets-Asian bistro from Gizzi Erskine.
Speaking in June, Dominic Cools-Lartigue said: "Dalston Yard is designed to be a home for creators that represent the breadth of London’s cultural excellence. With Street Feast, I wanted to create a viable alternative to going to a pub or a restaurant.
"Now with the proliferation of food halls, I’m keen to move things on again and create a dynamic new cultural hospitality space that speaks to and reflects our communities, interests and values.”
It's hoped this new venture will also springboard new brands like its predecessor, which brought London favourites Bao, Pizza Pilgrims, Bleecker Burger and Smokestak to prominence.
You can find Dalston Yard at 25 Hartwell St, E8 3DF. For the latest updates, check out their Instagram here.
