Dan Ashworth offered unique Man United transfer opportunity to unlock Bruno Fernandes
Manchester United successfully managed to strengthen their midfield in the summer transfer window with the late signing of Manuel Ugarte.
The Red Devils were linked with a number of midfielders throughout the summer but Ugarte was always Erik ten Hag's priority target. A move for the Uruguay international took a number of turns before a deal worth £50.5million with add-ons.
United now have a variety of options in the middle of the park with the likes of Kobbie Mainoo and Bruno Fernandes mainstays. However, injury to Mason Mount and consistent problems for Casemiro means problems remain.

Ten Hag plays a midfield three with Fernandes often joining the forward line. However, United are often short when the Portugal playmaker is unavailable. Fortunately, despite the transfer window closing a week ago, sporting director Dan Ashworth could still register an attacking midfielder.
United have reportedly been offered former Lille star and Turkey international Yusuf Yazici. The playmaker is currently without a club after leaving the French club at the end of June and it's understood that he's been offered to a number of Premier League clubs.
HITC have claimed that United remain keen to bolster Ten Hag's midfield after Yazici was offered to them on a free transfer. Tottenham, Aston Villa and Newcastle have all been notified of his availability.
The position may not be one that United are desperate for but it could help Ten Hag and Fernandes. Since joining the club in 2020, the 29-year-old has played 237 games, missing just 15 games. Behind him, United have lacked a player to take the load off him.
A problem Ten Hag is faced with is resting Fernandes in cup fixtures to ensure he's fresh for the Premier League. Signing Yazici outside the transfer window to add some depth in that position could be a crucial decision by Ashworth.
