A dance school came second place in a competition at the weekend - despite only deciding to enter three weeks before.

McCaw School of Dance exploded onto the Street Dance competition scene at On The Beat Competition on Sunday March 19 at Accrington Town Hall.

Competing for the first time since the team MSD IGNITE formed 12 months ago, coached by Fayhe Louise Mitchell, the team came second in the team event and gained a further 22 medals and trophies in the solo events ranging from first to seventh place out of sections as large as 30.

Principal of the school, Charlotte Ormerod said: “We only decided to enter the competition three weeks ago so didn’t really have much chance to prepare but felt it would be a good experience for the children to dip their toes into the competitive dance world.
