Gemma Collins latest: Dancing on Ice fans outraged after Richard Blackwood given the boot in 'absolute travesty!'

Dancing on Ice fans were left fuming after Richard Blackwood and Carlotta Edwards were booted off in the dreaded dance-off as Gemma Collins survived to skate another week.

Blackwood scored 18 points out of a possible 40 for his performance to Beggin’ from Jersey Boys during Musicals Week.

But despite his best efforts, the 46-year-old found himself in the skate-off against Loose Women’s Saira Khan and her professional partner Mark Hanretty.

Blackwood impressed with his routine to Smokey Robinson & The Miracles’ The Tracks of My Tears, but the judges opted to save Khan following her performance to Katy Perry’s Roar.

Head judge Jayne Torvill was left with the final decision, saving Khan from elimination.

On his exit, an emotional Blackwood struggled to fight back tears. He said: “I am disappointed but it’s all good. It’s all good.”

His partner Edwards praised the star for his efforts, adding that the pair had built a “friendship for life.”

Wiping away tears, she said: “We've built a friendship that will last forever so that is what means the most to me. And the fact that my dad and brother are watching.”

Host Holly Willoughby added she was “really sad” to see the star go.

Viewers hit out at the “shocking” decision, with many fuming that Gemma Collins had been saved by the public vote.

One user wrote: “No way Richard Blackwood should have gone. ITV is a f****** shambles.”

Another commented: “Absolute travesty that Richard Blackwood was voted off #DancingOnIce yet Gemma 'no talent' Collins stays on.”

A third added: “I am absolutely disgusted. Gemma Collins did absolutely no skating whatsoever then threw a hissy fit. Neither Richard or Saira deserved to be in the skate off. It’s so unfair.#DancingOnIce.”

Love Island star Wes Nelson and partner Vanessa Bauer topped the leaderboard for a second consecutive week with 29.5 points for their performance, moving up from the impressive 25 points they received during their debut on ice last Sunday.

Dancing on Ice is on ITV, Sunday at 6pm
