Coronation Street's Antony Cotton has gone to new heights to prepare for this week's Dancing on Ice performance – and we do mean that literally.

Yes, tonight (February 18) will see Antony and his professional partner Brandee Malto channel their inner air hosting skills and the couple spent some time working in a Virgin Atlantic cabin crew to really nail the details of their performance.

Talk about method.

The couple's performance tonight will feature a nod to their crash course in learning how to be a member of a cabin crew, where Antony switched skating for making safety announcements and serving drinks.

But, seeing as tonight's show will feature the series' double elimination, the Dancing on Ice celebs will want all the advantages they can get to keep them out of the bottom three and save them from having to perform in the skate off.

Could Antony's time on board give him the edge on the ice?

All we can say is that we hope at the very least the pair are performing to the sounds of Busted's great hit 'Air Hostess'...

Tonight's double elimination was announced by presenters Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby on last week's show after Lemar Obika became the fifth celebrity to leave.

The remaining seven stars – that's Antony, Jake Quickenden, Matt Evans, Brooke Vincent, Kem Cetinay, Alex Beresford and Donna Air, if you're keeping track – will be whittled down to five after skating in tonight's live show.

The celebs have more than just the double elimination to worry about too as this week the judges have also set a special Judges' Challenge involving a set of criteria, dubbed The End To End Step Sequence, that each couple will have to incorporate into their routine.

So, phew. No pressure or anything then.

Dancing on Ice continues at 6pm tonight (February 18) on ITV.
