Eliminated Dancing on Ice couple Stephanie Waring and Sylvain Longchambon have hit back against the judges’ decision to send them home, claiming it broke the rules.

In Sunday’s episode of the ITV skating show, Waring and Longchambon lost out in the skate-off to Lemar and his partner Melody Le Moal, despite the singer tripping up during his performance.

Speaking to The Sun, Longchambon, who has been a professional skater on the show for several years commented: “The rules are if there’s a stumble in the skate-off then if the other couple skate well then they should be out. That is the rule of the skate-off.

“This happened five years ago with Pamela Anderson. She had a stumble and she was voted out. They gave Steph better marks on her main routine and he stumbled in the skate-off and they chose him over her.

“Maybe his skate-off was stronger but it is hard to understand when you have two judges that pick you and other two don’t.”

Meanwhile, Waring admitted she would miss training which had become part of her ‘routine’.

“I am going to have a hole in my life now,” she said.

“We started training at the end of October, I had a full time schedule with Hollyoaks and I’m also a single mum of two so for me it has been really tough but rewarding at the same time.

“It has become part of my regular routine and to not continue doing that anymore. I wanted to learn new tricks and more impressive lifts.”

Earlier this week, the Hollyoaks actress admitted she was ‘confused’ about why judges Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean had opted to save Lemar over her.

“The way I always thought that Dancing on Ice was, was that the skate-off was just based on that skate and everyone has the chance to improve,” she said on ITV chat show Lorraine.

“So I was like, I can’t make a mistake, it all rests on this one skate. So I was very confused.”

Her comments came amid accusations from viewers that the show is fixed.

One angry viewer wrote: “Extremely unfair. @Steph_Waring definitely should not have left tonight! Was one of the best in my opinion! Judges need to screw their heads on! @dancingonice #DancingOnIce.”

“Just caught up on @dancingonice and what an absolute joke! @Steph_Waring skated so much better and didn't fall over and she gets sent home? Swear it's fixed #DancingOnIce,” wrote one, while another tweeted: "Anybody else think Steph was robbed there? #DancingOnIce.”

Dancing on Ice continues Sundays at 9pm on ITV.
