Dancing on Ice contestant James Jordan has admitted he has struggled to spend much time with wife Ola due to his gruelling schedule for the show.

James is one of the favourites to win the current series of the skating show, having made it to the final five – though he's now revealed the toll it has taken on his relationship.

"I’m away all the time at the moment because I’m living in Bovingdon [near Hemel Hempstead] so I can rehearse," he told The Sun. "Last week, I only went home for one night.

"I literally just dropped my stuff off, repacked and came up, so I’m not getting much time to practise baby-making at all. Ola comes to the show on Sunday evening and then I don’t see her all week."

The former Strictly Come Dancing professional also explained that a painful groin injury hasn’t exactly made matters any easier.

"I’ve had really bad problems with my abductor muscle since the show," James continued. "It runs down the inside of your thigh. I’m in a lot of pain."

The dancer opened-up earlier this month about his and Ola's efforts to conceive a baby and undergoing IVF treatment, now saying why they have gone public about it.

"We opened up about it because we were getting fed up of people asking us when we were having kids," James said. "We have been for some meetings for IVF with specialists to assess the situation. We’ll do it in due course. I can’t wait to be a dad."

Dancing on Ice airs Sundays at 6pm on ITV.
