Dancing Police Horse Helps With New Orleans Marriage Proposal

A woman who is a “huge fan of horses” got a sweet surprise when her boyfriend proposed to her as she met the New Orleans Police Department’s (NOPD) famous dancing horse Ace at an event in New Orleans, Louisiana, on February 12.

The proposal happened while the couple was on a VIP tour at Horses, Hops and Cops.

The annual event allows guests to tour the NOPD stables and view Budweiser Clydesdales, who come to town for Mardi Gras.

The man arranged the proposal with the NOPD and sprung it on his beloved as she was meeting Ace.

Local media said Ace first burst into the limelight several years ago when he was filmed grooving along to jazz on the streets of New Orleans.

The NOPD shared this footage, which shows a woman waiting to meet Ace, who turns around to reveal a sign that reads, “Kylie will you marry me.” Her man drops down to one knee as he gives her flowers and a ring, which she accepts with a broad smile.

“Thanks for allowing the NOPD to be a part of your love story,” the police department said on Facebook.
