'Dangerous' Maldon road to be repaired with month-long traffic restrictions in lead up to Christmas
A busy Essex roundabout is set to see some in-depth repairs over the coming month, after Essex Highways has confirmed a start date. Developers have confirmed they are about to start works on the Wycke Hill Business Park in Maldon to fix issues with the road.
These repairs will start on Monday, November 11, and continue until December 21 with the support of temporary lane restrictions. Works will be carried out on the entrance to the newly constructed retail estate (new Costa Coffee), where it meets the mini roundabout on Wycke Hill Business Park.
Although much of the work will take place overnight, traffic restrictions will remain in place for safety until the work is complete. This is due to deep excavations that will be in place as part of the work.

To keep traffic moving within the business park as much as possible and to prevent delays to Wycke Hill Roundabout - which also serves A414 Maldon Road, Limebrook Way and Wycke Hill - a member of the team will monitor the temporary signals in use.
Despite thorough works being set to take place, some locals have commented on the timing of the repairs. One said: "That whole roundabout is a 4X4 course. It's an absolute joke and dangerous.
"Can't believe it's been left so long. Utterly irresponsible." Another said: "Why is it being done now on the lead-up to Christmas?"
