“It’s awesome,” he told the publication. “I’ve kind of really enjoyed the first six months.” He also noted that he isn’t sure what he imagined of fatherhood, “but it’s great. He’s incredible and I’m just, like, in awe.”

Radcliffe and his longtime girlfriend, Erin Darke, welcomed their first son in April, a month after news broke that the couple was expecting. The actors met on the set of 2013’s Kill Your Darlings, in which he played famous poet Allen Ginsberg, and Darke portrayed a woman he has a sexual encounter with in a library. Radcliffe and Darke also starred alongside one another in Miracle Workers.

In a different interview with ET in July, the Weird: The Al Yankovic Story star said that Darke is amazing, and it has been a privilege to have time with his son.

“I was always going to take some time off, which not everyone is able to do, and so I’m able to kind of just be here with him a lot, which is lovely,” Radcliffe said. “We’re having a great time.”

The actor, who is currently starring in Merrily We Roll Along on Broadway, also admitted that having a son will likely play a part in what roles he takes moving forward.

“I really like spending time with him, and I think I’m gonna miss him when I go back to work later in the year,” he said. “I think I’ll probably work a little bit less for the next few years.”
