Danish treetop hotel is the perfect eco-friendly getaway

If you’re looking for an eco-friendly Danish adventure, head over to Løvtag.

The treetop cabin hotel in Denmark is luxurious and tucked away in an idyllic forest. Architect Sigurd Larsen designed the three available lodgings. Each is elevated 6 to 8 meters above the forest floor and has a real tree bursting through its structure. That means whether you’re in the bedroom or the roof terrace, there’s a live tree as part of the space.

“The access to the roof terrace gives the impression that you continue to ‘climb’ the tree to reach the canopy,” the design studio told dezeen. “In all directions, scenic views of the forest are framed by panoramic windows”.

Every cabin has a “Nordic minimalist” vibe that utilizes “every cubic centimeter to its utmost.” You can find a small kitchen, dining area, bathroom, queen-sized bed and sofa, along with a roof terrace in the three dwellings.

“The cabins are located on a small hilltop overlooking a meadow which gives a wonderful view over the top of the forest and lets the sunshine in during the afternoon,” the architect firm said, according to dezeen.

The cabins are made of sustainable materials including TermoWood, a patented eco-friendly wood hybrid and ground screws made of 75 percent recycled materials.

The experience is obviously not just about the cabin but its surroundings. The small forest is near Als Odde in North Jutland. Secret paths and trails fill the woods along with oak, beech, spruce and pine trees.
