Danniella Westbrook Denies Being Fired From EastEnders After Two Weeks

Danniella Westbrook has angrily hit back at allegations that she was fired from EastEnders after just two weeks, insisting that she was never supposed to stay on the BBC soap’s set for any longer.

The Sun had previously claimed that producers wrote Danniella out of the soap earlier than planned because her backstage antics were too much to handle, the star allegedly arrived two hours late and brought her boyfriend along to filming.

A source claimed: “It was her last day of filming on Saturday and she won’t be back. This is a huge opportunity lost for Danniella.”

However, the Celebrity Big Brother contestant has said that she was only ever going to shoot four episodes as her Walford alter ego Sam Mitchell, hinting that she’d taken a role in a rival soap.

Taking to Twitter, Danniella ranted: “I had two weeks work 2 do @bbceastenders a funeral to shoot. Nothing with Peggy or grant. I was not sacked or axed I just did 4 episodes.

"The Cr*p story a supposed source has given is just that CR*P! I came back for the 4 episodes they needed me for & my last day was Saturday.

"I was happy 2 go back 2 Eastenders 4 a few episodes. But I’m ready to call another soap home now .. A move north maybe. [sic]”

Danniella returned to the soap for Peggy Mitchell’s death, with Barbara Windsor calling in all of her original Mitchell family castmates as she bows out as the matriarch and former Queen Vic landlady after 22 years on the soap.

We can’t wait to see all of the old faces back on Albert Square once again.
