Yahoo News Danny Dyer follows daughter's footsteps into reality TV
EastEnders star Danny Dyer is so chuffed by daughter Dani's popularity on Love Island that he's only gone and signed up for his own reality dating show!
He won't actually be competing - we imagine his wife Jo might have frowned on that! Instead, Danny Dyer will be the Iain Stirling-type making cheeky comments while narrating MTV's True Love or True Lies.
The first-of-its-kind series will air nightly, and be hosted by Radio 1's Maya Jama as it attempts to discover which British couple is best at spotting liars.
Six couples will be arriving at an Italian mansion thinking they're competing on a show called The Perfect Couple to win a prize of £50,000, but hidden among them are fake couples whose goal it is to deceive them.
The real couples will have to figure out who among them are liars and each night vote out another pair. If they vote out a fake couple, the prize pot will grow by £10,000 each time.
A synopsis teases: "The couples will compete in daily love games, designed to test their relationship, get an insight into everyone else's and prove that they have what it takes to be crowned the perfect couple.
"At the end of each day, the couples will take part in a Love Ceremony, giving them the opportunity to choose the pair they believe to be liars. The couple with the most votes will leave the competition immediately."
Maya Jama will host the nightly series True Love or True Lies from Monday, August 6 at 9pm on MTV and it will continue through Thursday, August 16. That's shortly after Love Island finishes up, so it'll give reality telly addicts something new to look forward to.
