Both I'm A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here viewers and TV experts claim to have 'rumbled' a new rival for Danny Jones in the jungle, who could pose a big threat to the bookies favourite's chances of winning.

As soon as his name was linked with a stint on the ITV show, McFly singer Danny shot straight to the top of the betting on who will triumph on I'm A Celebrity this year; with insiders claiming the track record of his bandmates on TV shows also boosted his chances. Dougie Poynter was crowned King of the Jungle back in 2011, the same year that McFly drummer Harry Judd won Strictly.

Having been favourite to win before the new series of I'm A Celeb launched last weekend, Danny has continue to lead the odds in the programme's first week, as GK Barry, who was right behind him in second at one point, fell away and Tulisa crept into contention, after viewers were impressed by her.

However, it's not Tulisa who is now seen as Danny's biggest rival, it's I'm A Celebrity late arrival, ex Love Island star Maura Higgins, who made her debut on the show alongside fellow newcomer Rev Richard Coles. Like Danny, Maura was put into the mix as soon as she was tipped to go into the jungle and now, after becoming a big talking point on Thursday night, the 33-year-old is now on Danny's heels, with William Hill slashing odds on her winning from 9/1 to 4/1, as she also becomes the hot tip to be the highest finishing female camp, mate in the new series.

On the change in the odds, spokesperson for William Hill, Lee Phelps, said: “Our punters have been quick to back Maura after her arrival on I’m A Celebrity last night and the former Love Island contestant is now the second favourite to win the series. Maura’s price of 9/1 to sit on the jungle throne earlier this week has collapsed into 4/1 as of Friday morning, while she’s also odds-on at 10/11 to progress the furthest out of the females in camp, ahead of Tulisa (15/8).”
