Danny Rose has been included in the Tottenham squad for Tuesday's Champions League game at Borussia Dortmund, easing doubts about his relationship with manager Mauricio Pochettino.

Rose was omitted from the match-day squad for Saturday’s 2-0 defeat at Arsenal and was instead sent to train with the reserves.

The 27-year-old was fined two weeks wages in August for a newspaper interview in which he criticised Spurs’ ambition, wage structure and transfer strategy.

After Saturday’s defeat Pochettino branded questions about a fresh bust-up with the defender as “opportunistic” and said he still needed to improve his fitness.

The Spurs squad did not train this morning ahead of the lunchtime flight to Germany but Rose was expected to be included in a strong travelling party for the match at the Westfalenstadion, where a win would make Spurs group winners.

Erik Lamela made his first appearance for over a year on Saturday, playing an hour for the U23s, but the Argentine is ineligible in the Champions League, while Toby Alderweireld (hamstring) and Victor Wanyama (knee) remain sidelined.
