Danny Rose has rejoined first-team training at Tottenham as he targets a comeback against Arsenal on Sunday.

The England defender has not played since damaging medial knee ligaments in the 0-0 draw at Sunderland on January 31.

Though he has not made a full return to work with Mauricio Pochettino’s squad, Spurs revealed on Tuesday that Rose “continues outdoor training and has started to reintegrate with first-team training.”

Tottenham face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Wednesday. It appears unlikely that Rose will be available for that match, but Tottenham are clearly hopeful he can feature in the north London derby.

Until his injury, Rose had been one of the best-performing left-backs in Europe. Even though he has been absent for nearly three months, the 26-year-old was still included in the PFA Team of the Year for the Premier League.

Spurs are still without Erik Lamela (hip), Harry Winks (ankle), Michel Vorm and Cameron Carter-Vickers (both knee).
