It’s only week one of Strictly Come Dancing, but the fans can all agree on one thing already - they love Motsi Mabuse.

When the new judge replacing Dame Darcey Bussell was announced, it wasn’t without complaints that she wasn’t well known enough and might show favouritism to her pro dancer sister, Oti Mabuse.

But any doubters’ fears were firmly put to rest when Motsi made the best entrance onto the Strictly dancefloor that the show has ever seen from a judge (i.e. it didn’t look awkward).

As if that wasn’t enough, she then treated us to some of the one-liner comments of the episode, especially when it came to comedian Chris Ramsey’s Cha Cha Cha with Karen Hauer.

Taking her seat alongside Shirley Ballas, Craig Revel Horwood, and Bruno Tonioli, she told Chris: “Your face was so expressive! If we could have some of that in the body...

“Your body was a bit on holiday.”

The love for Motsi kept on coming, with an almost universal outpouring of admiration for the woman given the tough task of filling Dame Darcey’s dancing shoes.

Viewers can’t wait to see what Motsi brings to the show next week, but one thing’s for sure - she’s definitely livened up the judging panel.

Strictly Come Dancing returns on Saturday, September 28 to BBC One.
