Darren Day splits from wife of 12 years Stephanie Dooley as couple confirm there was 'nobody else involved'

Darren Day has split from his wife of 12 years Stephanie Dooley, it has been confirmed.

Dooley, who previously appeared in Emmerdale, confirmed that Day had moved out of the home they shared, as a result.

The news of their decision to part ways comes two years after they renewed their wedding vows.

A statement to Hello magazine read: “Stephanie and Darren separated back in October 2018.

“It is a personal matter that they have chosen to deal with privately.”

Details about their split have not been revealed, however The Sun reported Dooley, who recently tweeted about being a single parent, confirming that no one else was involved.

“There was nobody else involved on either side,” she said.

Dooley had previously gushed about Day in 2017 following their lavish vow renewal.

“To stand with Darren ten years on, I’m not just proud of him as my husband, but of his sobriety and his strength.

“I knew he was going to be a good husband, but looking at what sort of man and father he has become, I feel more in love and more committed to him than ever,” she said.

Having built up a “love rat” reputation, Day insisted that those days were behind him during an interview on Lorraine in 2016.

“There were times I know when I wasn't a role model and things are very different now.

“It's taken time to build up bridges again, the last decade – I've worked hard and it finally feels like all the hard work has paid off.”

“My lifestyle changed, I don’t drink, I even gave up smoking I try and be a good husband and father and be a good man,” he added.
