On your marks and get set! The exact date that the Dartford Half Marathon will be returning for 2025 has been announced. It’s time to lace up those running shoes and get your training schedule in order as the popular event has been scheduled for Sunday, March 2.

A true staple of the Kent running calendar ever since its debut all the way back in 1977, when Olympic champion Steve Ovett was crowned the first winner, the half marathon hosted by RunThrough attracts fitness enthusiasts from all over the UK. The single-loop course winds through scenic countryside and culminates with a big finish on Central Park’s iconic athletics track.

Runners of all skill levels are welcome to take on the half marathon, which spans just over 13 miles in all. There is a three-hour cut off time to ensure the safety of participants and volunteers on closed roads. Full details on these road closures will be announced nearer the time.

Alongside the main event, the 2025 Dartford Half Marathon will also feature an 800m Junior race on the athletics track, consisting of two laps around the track and ending under the same arch as the adult runners. Next year’s event will support independent mental health charity North Kent Mind and participants are encouraged to raise funds for this local cause.
