Darwen firefighters have been hanging about at Ewood Park
Firefighters have been hanging out at Ewood park – and it’s all part of a training exercise.
Crews from Darwen have been completing their rope rescue training today (September 23), which has seen them at the home of Blackburn Rovers.
Darwen fire station shared the fantastic photo of a crew member hanging over the pitch at Ewood park on social media this afternoon.
The crews, who complete this training about four times a year, have been lowering and lifting their colleagues up and down the stalls on ropes.
The service said that in an emergency, crews would use a rope rescue to save a person trapped in an inaccessible place such as off a cliff or for lowering someone from a window.
Blackburn fire crews have also been training today at a building in the town centre which is soon to be demolished for breathing apparatus drills.
