Daryll Rowe: 10 men now accusing hairdresser of deliberately infecting them with HIV

More men have come forward to claim they were deliberately infected with HIV by a man who has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm.

Daryll Rowe, who is currently in custody in Scotland, is now facing 10 complainants who say he tampered with contraception whilst having sex with them in Brighton between October 2015 and January 2016.

The 26-year-old hairdresser first faced complaints from two men and the number has risen to 10. Rowe denies all charges.

He will be moved to Lewes to stand trial.

A judge has granted lifetime anonymity to the alleged victims.

If an HIV-positive person is not receiving treatment and is deliberately infecting their sexual partners, they can be charged with grievous bodily harm and face life in prison.

If the person is receiving treatment and the virus is at “undetectable” levels in their system, they cannot pass the virus onto others.

Rowe was living in Brighton at the time he allegedly committed the offences.

He failed to answer bail last November and police launched a nationwide hunt, with his mother urging Rowe to turn himself in.

The former hairdresser was detained and charges were brought against him.

Police said that anyone who had had sex with Rowe should get tested.
