Date revealed to finally fix neglected Nuneaton road at centre of years of complaints
New Year dates have been set to finally repair a neglected road and footpath in Nuneaton. There had been a long-running saga surrounding Cleaver Gardens, which is a small stretch of road around the council flats in Weddington.
But last year, the row was finally resolved between Nuneaton and Bedworth Borough Council and Warwickshire County Council. Which meant that years of waiting for both the road and pavement to be re-surfaced would come to an end.
The county council highways programme of works states that the footway is set to be repaired from January 6. Then the road itself will be resurfaced from February 3.

The deal struck between the county and the borough council will see both local authorities share the cost of the road works. Then the county council will officially adopt the highways and footpaths of Cleaver Gardens.
This will then mean that any future maintenance responsibilities have to be undertaken by the county council. These works are the only Nuneaton works to be confirmed for the start of next year.
Over in Bedworth, Smorrall Lane is set for 'structural patching' to the road from January 6.
