Pitcher Greg Swindell #50 of the Kansas City Royals; Brenna Swindell, 29, was reported missing by police in Austin on Monday morning.

Former MLB Greg Swindell's daughter was found safe after a five-day search, PEOPLE has confirmed.

Brenna Swindell, the 29-year-old daughter of the former Astros player, was found on Tuesday, Aug. 27 after being reported missing since Thursday, the Travis County Sheriff's Office tells PEOPLE in a statement.

“This is the news we were desperately hoping and praying for. I’m relieved that Brenna has been found and is safe. I’m so grateful to everyone who contributed their efforts to finding her, across the Travis County area and outside the state of Texas,” Sheriff Sally Hernandez said.

Officers with the police department in Klamath Falls, Oregon said they spotted Brenna's vehicle and found Brenna and her ex-boyfriend Morgan Guidry inside. Guidry was arrested on a warrant, issued on Aug. 20 at Brenna's request, from the Travis County Sheriff's Office and is currently in custody.

The arrest warrant was filed on Friday, Aug. 23, stating that Guidry “strangled his girlfriend multiple times and slammed her head onto the floor at an apartment complex July 7,” the Austin American-Statesman reported.

Per an affidavit, Brenna had sustained various injuries to her clavicle, head, neck and hand, and told authorities that she threw a box of ammunition on the ground and ran to an exit while Guidry grabbed a rifle, the outlet reported.

Brenna said she was in fear for her life, according to authorities.

“Anytime a loved one goes missing, family members may reach out to law enforcement agencies for help. I am grateful that APD had involvement investigating this case and that Ms. Brenna Swindell was found safe,” Interim Police Chief Robin Henderson said in the statement shared with PEOPLE.

Upon the news that Brenna was found, Greg took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to provide an update, writing “She has been found. That’s all we have for now. Thank you to everyone. And I mean everyone who helped in the process.”

Greg, 59, and his wife had shared a harrowing update about their daughter on Facebook on Sunday, Aug. 25, that began with "PLEASE HELP."

Greg and Sarah said in the post that their daughter Brenna — a mother of three — "has not been seen or heard from in the Austin area since late Thursday afternoon," and that her phone has been turned off. "She has not been in contact with family, friends, and mostly importantly her children," the couple wrote.

The post included a photo of Brenna and her ex-boyfriend — whom her father described as "violent" on Facebook.

The couple said that Brenna's ex is facing legal trouble "from when he assaulted her last month" and that they aren't sure if their daughter "went with him willingly, was talking into running away with him, or what."

Greg and Sarah said they "still feel" that their daughter "would never abandon her 3 children or just take off without explanation," and that unless "otherwise" can be proven, the couple said, "we feel she is in danger."
