Derby County could not have wished for a better return to the Championship. Nine games in and the promoted Rams are 12th in the table on 12 points and with an impressive home record.

Considering theirs is a team largely built around free transfers, loans and bargain-basement recruits, manager Paul Warne has plenty to be pleased about. But can Derby keep it up? Have they overachieved so far or is their first nine games just a sample of what is to come as the Rams prove their second tier credentials?

We have commissioned a poll to assess Derby’s progress this season, and we would like to hear your views.

For example, of the summer recruits, who has impressed and who has so far been found wanting? What have you made of Warne’s performance as a Championship manager, and what would be an acceptable finish for the Rams come next May?

Then there are the big issues facing Derby off the pitch, particularly concerning ownership of the club. So is owner David Clowes right to search for new investment to take the Rams to the next level or is stability under the current regime preferable considering the catastrophic impact of ambition on the club in the past?

This is just a sample of the questions, so pile in and have your say on the Rams and where they go from here. We will collate your answers and report back with the conclusions sometime before Derby resume their 2024/25 campaign a week on Saturday at Millwall (3pm kick-off).
