Sir David Attenborough has left Instagram, just three months after joining the social media platform and breaking a record in the process.
Despite starting his Insta journey in iconic fashion, the naturalist and national treasure has now revealed that he's "off" the platform and has no intentions of returning.
Joining Greg James on BBC Radio 1 Breakfast this morning (January 8), Sir David admitted that he was finding the app a little tricky to use. "I'm so old I can't get used to all these new media," he explained.
"I was persuaded to [join] in order to do a message about conservation. So for a limited period of time I contributed to Instagram, but I'm off now. I'm not on it anymore and I don't intend to go back. I've got enough problems with post."
Revealing his preference for letters over DMs, Sir David said that he's too busy opening his mail to post content on Instagram. "I get 70 letters a day! I do my very best [to respond to them all]," he added.
"Sometimes people, mercifully, don't actually put their address on because people are so unaccustomed to sending letters."
Never change, David.
Sir David Attenborough's latest project A Perfect Planet continues Sunday (January 10) at 8pm on BBC One.
