David Beckham proved he’s just like the rest of us and can’t complete a long car journey without stopping off for a snack.

The former footballer, 42, shunned a healthy treat in favour of a McDonald's as he made his way to Glastonbury Festival.

Beckham passed through a drive-thru in Chippenham near Bath and left one employee “star struck”.

Philip Moulton couldn’t resist asking the A-lister for a selfie and posted the picture on his Facebook account alongside the caption: “I am literally star struck! David Beckham on the drive-thru.”

Predictably fans were eager to know what Beckham ordered. Putting them out of their misery, Mr Moulton replied: “Big mac meal with 2 cheeseburgers.”

One user joked: “I hope you did it fresh for him.”

Beckham was in Pilton to officially open a housing development with Glastonbury Festival organiser Michael Eavis.

He helped to plant a tree outside the Maggie's Farm development.

Beckham also enjoyed the annual event at Worthy Farm with his son Brooklyn, who he watched Foo Fighters with.

He was later joined by his wife Victoria Beckham for Ed Sheeran’s headline slot on Sunday night.

The fashion designer kept fans up-to-date with her festival antics which saw her fly in by helicopter.
