David Cassidy's will, drafted more than a decade ago, intentionally leaves out daughter Katie

Let David Cassidy's unfortunate death serve as a reminder to review your own personal documents.

In a sad revelation, it was revealed this week that David's will leaves behind $150,000 in assets to his son, Beau -- but explicitly excludes his daughter, Katie, from any inheritance. The news came as a surprise since Katie and her father seemingly reconnected before his death -- she even shared with fans his very last words.

"It is my specific intent not to provide any benefits hereunder to Katherine Evelyn Cassidy," the late "Partridge Family" star wrote.

It appears that David drafted the will in 2004, right in the middle of ongoing turmoil with his daughter. Even though she was ultimately by his side at the end, the two famously had a rocky relationship through the years, and David said as recently as February that he wasn't truly her dad.

"I've never had a relationship with her," he told People at the time. "I wasn’t her father. I was her biological father but I didn’t raise her. She has a completely different life.”

That said, he acknowledged that he was "proud of her," adding, "She’s very talented. It’s hard for me to even accept how old she is now, like 30."

But even so, the "Arrow" actress reportedly rushed to David's side when the star was nearing his final days. "Words cant express the solace our family’s received from all the love & support during this trying time,” she tweeted. “My father’s last words were 'So much wasted time.' This will be a daily reminder for me to share my gratitude with those I love as to never waste another minute… Thank you."

Katie has continued to show support for other members of her family, including cousin Jack Cassidy, who competed on "The Voice" earlier this year.
