Olympic diving coach, David Jenkins, died at the age of 31 over the weekend, British Swimming has announced.
Mr Jenkins was the development lead coach for Dive London, based at the London Aquatics Centre, where he had worked for eight years.
This summer, the "highly-respected coach" helped Team GB to success at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics - with the country's divers securing a joint-record medal haul at the Games.
Two of his young divers, Noah Williams and Scarlett Mew-Jensen, were part of the squad.
Williams, 21, placed 27th in the men's 10m platform event, while 19-year-old Mew-Jensen finished 22nd in the women's 3m springboard preliminary round, missing out on a place in the semi-final.
Governing body British Swimming said the former gymnast had "a bright future ahead of him and will be greatly missing".
It said in a statement: "All our thoughts and condolences go out to David's wife, family and friends, and we please ask that their privacy, and that of the British Diving community, be respected at this difficult time.
"We will be working closely with staff and athletes who have been affected by this awful news."
Before his Olympic success, he was involved in coaching teams at successful world and European championship campaigns as well as for Team England at the 2018 Commonwealth Games.
It was there that, Williams won a silver medal in the men's 10m synchronised diving.
As result, Mr Jenkins was nominated for diving coach of the year at the British Swimming Awards in 2018.
Jane Nickerson, Swim England chief executive, said: "Everyone at Swim England is deeply saddened to hear of David's passing.
"He was a highly-respected coach who played a key role in the development of several divers who have competed at the Commonwealth Games, World Championships and the Olympics.
"He will be extremely missed poolside and our thoughts and sincere condolences from everyone at Swim England go out to his family and friends."
Away from the elite sport, Mr Jenkins played an instrumental role in the Tom Daley Diving Academy, where he taught 'Learn To Dive' lessons to children.
