Good news for Friends fans – the reunion we've been waiting for, which was delayed due to the coronavirus, might finally be happening!

David Schwimmer, the actor who played Ross, revealed some very optimistic news regarding the highly-anticipated reunion special on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Monday.

He told the show: "The hope is that this reunion special, which we would love to shoot, you know, it's unscripted.

“It's basically a really fun interview and then some other surprise bits. But it's supposed to happen maybe in August, the middle of August, but, honestly, we're going to wait and see another week, or two, if we all determine it's really safe enough to do and, if not, then we'll wait until it's safe."

The reunion special, which will be the first time the entire cast is back together on screen since the show wrapped in 2004, was supposed to be released in May, with the launch of HBO Max, but was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.

However, while filming in mid-August is what everyone is hoping for, it hasn’t been officially confirmed yet.

So, for now, production for the reunion might be on a break, but as for the biggest debate – were they or were they not on a break?

Schwimmer finally put rumours to rest, saying: "Yeah, it's not even a question, they were on a break."
