Hit BBC One series Staged, which stars David Tennant and Michael Sheen (or should that be Michael Sheen and David Tennant?), is coming back for a second series.

The first series follows the two actors and their families as they try to rehearse a play over Zoom during the pandemic, and became an unexpected hit during lockdown.

Well, it's now been confirmed that we'll be getting even more antics from the pair, as they "attempt to navigate their 'new normal' at home with their increasingly exasperated families whilst simultaneously trying to tackle the world of 'virtual Hollywood' and their ever more fragile egos."

Series two will also see the return of Georgia Tennant, Anna Lundberg, Lucy Eaton, Nina Sosanya and Simon Evans, while Parks and Recreation star Ben Schwartz is joining the cast, playing the assistant to Michael and David's American agent.

Of course, the first series also saw unexpected cameos from huge stars such as Samuel L Jackson and Judi Dench, so we'll be keeping our eyes peeled for more big names to pop up.

"It's been so great to see how much people enjoyed the first series," Sheen said. "Seemed like the laughs were much appreciated. It made us really excited about taking it further and going in some surprising and hopefully enjoyable directions this time."

Georgia Tennant added: "The prospect of getting my husband back into employment alongside the divine Ben Schwartz and the hairy, Welsh legend that is Michael Sheen all makes me very happy to be back for series two!"

Staged airs on BBC One. All six episodes of the series are now available to watch on iPlayer.
