David Tennant teases "exciting" soundtrack for new '80s drama
David Tennant has teased an "exciting" soundtrack for new '80s drama Rivals.
Adapted from Dame Jilly Cooper's bestselling novel, the series is set in the social elite of the 1980s, focusing on the rivalry between Lord Tony Baddingham (Tennant) and MP Rupert Campbell-Black (Alex Hassell).
Ahead of the show's premiere on Disney+ next month, Tennant appeared on BBC Radio 2's Breakfast Show on Friday (September 20), where he shared some of the '80s anthems that will be featured in the series.

The actor revealed that the show opens with Robert Palmer's iconic 1985 hit 'Addicted to Love', and also features Paul Simon's pop anthem 'You Can Call Me Al' – which was released in 1986.
Tennant also described the period details incorporated in the show, including "yuppies" and the earliest mobile phones, which he jokingly described as the "size of a house".
"This is from the '80s, set in 1986 in that moment where the world went a bit mad," he explained to host Scott Mills.
"That sort of greed is good, no such thing as society, champagne concorde, people kind of competing with each other and these sort of awful people living in the Cotswolds, having this extraordinary, mad, privileged, lunatic life."

The show also features Aidan Turner (Poldark), Nafessa Williams (Black Lightning), Katherine Parkinson (Humans), Bella Maclean (Sex Education), Emily Atack (The Inbetweeners), Danny Dyer (EastEnders), Lisa McGrillis (Maternal) and Luke Pasqualino (Our Girl).
Catriona Chandler (Enola Holmes 2), Oliver Chris (Foundation), Rufus Jones (Camping), Claire Rushbrook (Ali & Ava), Victoria Smurfit (Once Upon a Time), Anthony Byrne (The Witcher) and Bryony Hannah (Call the Midwife) round out the stacked cast.
BAFTA-nominated filmmaker Elliot Hegarty, known for his work on Ted Lasso, is the lead director.

Speaking previously about the adaptation of her popular novel, Cooper said: "I'm utterly enchanted to be able to announce our all-star line-up for Rivals.
"Featuring some of the best acting talent that the British Isles has to offer, I couldn't have dreamed of a better ensemble cast. I cannot wait to be on set and see them bring the characters I love so much to life.
"The minute we met with Alex, we knew he'd perfectly embody my all-time hero, the iconic, racy, ruthless, and devastatingly handsome, Rupert Campbell-Black. Viewers are in for a treat!"
Rivals is coming to Disney+ on October 18.
