All about money: Simon Cowell reveals David Walliams' pay rise request

David Walliams reportedly asked Simon Cowell for a 50 per cent pay rise to appear on this year’s series of Britain’s Got Talent.

Cowell revealed that Walliams’ agent got in touch with him ahead of filming to request the huge salary increase when the comedian accused him of being “all about the money” during the first audition in Blackpool.

According to The Mirror, Cowell made the revelation while the duo joked around with each other during a break in filming on Wednesday.

The Syco founder asked the audience what they would do with the prize money if they were to win the show, prompting Walliams to say: “It’s all about money with Simon.”

Cowell fought back by revealing Walliams’ demand for a pay rise, saying: “Seeing as your agent asked for a 50% pay rise, that’s a bit rich coming from you.”

The news follows reports that Walliams was told off by producers during the auditions for his 'outrageous comedy'.

According to The Sun, the comedian jokingly told a 12-year-old magician that his dead rabbit was “dog food” - leaving the youngster shocked and the audience stunned.

Walliams reportedly didn’t stop there, telling the youngster how he “f****** loved it” after he performed.
